Nightmares

A friend of mine had a dream that prompted this sketch. Very rough, kinda dirty too, but then dreams are sometimes aren't they? About an hour spent on this.

I do believe he will slay those demons!

Archangel


Oh it's been too long since my last post! I was watching Supernatural last night and got inspired to envision what an Archangel would look like. Did this on a small piece of scrap paper which is no excuse, but partly why the foot got cut off. I just wanted to be sure I got those big wings in there!

Small sketch I did after life drawing class last week.
I spent a fair amount of time on this. At least more so than usual.
Although after looking at it for a while I don't think the composition
really emphasizes the drama of the situation. I think I'll be re-
working this tomorrow. My goal with this idea is to take it as far as
I can. Really need to push myself to the limits if I want to improve!

Study from a photo.. I had a lot of fun on this one.
I feel like I am making some progress finally! I'll continue
doing these and hopefully transferring what I know to
my original art. For now, I am happy with these results for
the most part. The stomach area needs some work. All those
subtle variations were difficult! I'll get the hang of it though...
Oh yes, it will be mine!

Started painting this one. Something I need
years more practice doing as you can see. I'll update
this a few more times probably and move on.

Study from photo ref. I like doing studies like these
from photos from time to time to help me unwind. I find
it's not stressful and I can just focus on getting the details
and proportions correct. I'm also using this to help me improve
my concentration as I tend to get really impatient when I draw.
Hopefully these exercises help with that. I'll probably do some
work on this in color in the near future. Stay tuned :)

Very busy since getting married last month. I am posting today a
piece I did for Toynami's Robotech Alpha toy line. I'll work on being
